Jersey's puppies at 5 1/2 weeks old!

Here they are! Pictures were taken outside this time, so everything looks a little dull! Light was fading this evening unfortunately. If you are one of the families getting a Jersey puppy, and you have picked out a name...send me an email so that we can start using it!

off to bed...

Well it is getting late, and thankfully all of the puppies and big dogs are passed out. The three that sleep in our room (Maggie, Missy and Mona) are all passed out on the living room floor just waiting to get into our bedroom. Jake is already asleep and when I bring the dogs into our room Missy has this ritual of jumping right on him....I would be sooo mad if that was me everynight! But he doesn't mind it. A message to my doggies...don't attempt to wake me up that way in the middle of my sleep!

George flew to Nova Scotia today! Happy reports from her owner as she arrived safe and sound. I just have 2 Blaze puppies here now that everyone else is in their new homes. I have my girl and Tuscan Ridge LD's girl, who is just waiting to fly to her home as well! I still haven't come up with a good name for my girl...anyone have suggestions?? I've been through some many lists of names starting with "M".

Tomorrow my mom is picking up one of my new puppies at the hamilton airport. He is flying from Nova Scotia and I will get him on thursday. His name is "Mister".

Jersey's puppies are doing soooo well with their crate training. They are almost fully weaned from Jersey, and her guardian family will be coming to pick her up on saturday.

Tomorrow we have a family coming to see Jersey's puppies. I am going to take all new pictures of them, as well as a picture of our new front patio! It was completed today and I'm just so happy! It looks gorgeous! Of course, one of Jersey's puppies had to christen it and pooped on it! How thoughtful!

sunday afternoon!

With some of Blaze's puppies already in their new homes, we have to enjoy our final days with the others! Jersey's puppies have started the weaning process and are enjoying a bit of the outdoors right now. They are so adorable.

Yesterday Jake and I went to an open house. The property was nice, and we thought that it was out of town, but on our drive there...way way too many neighbors! We were practically in the center of town! The house needed so much work and was soooo tiny...we could not move there. Today we are going to see a home that is way out of our reach, but the photos make it seem like it is out of a fairytale! We can dream right?!

Our patio is almost completel. The rain that we have had off and on over the last week has stalled it a bit, but there is only a small portion to finish. It looks so good! I'm very happy with it! Our front yard is coming together nicely.

Well, I hear the puppies calling...lunch time for them!

week updates

Over the last few days, our neighbor issues have only gotten worse. Panda and Lola dug under our fence and were both running in our neighbors yard...and they have chickens. We didn't know that this was going on, as we were both inside with the puppies, and all of a sudden we hear our neighbor screaming at us and banging on our door. He had Lola in his arms and had 'caught' Panda and had her locked in his house. No chickens were killed or anything, but he was soooo mad. Obviously we didn't mean for this to happen. It is a complete accident...we didn't put our dogs in their yard and say "go to town". Our dogs know that there are chickens there because they are constantly up at our fence line or flying into our yard.

Anyways, he was going to call the police on us because Panda is a husky and could apparently hurt people. She is 5 months old, give me a break. We heard her crying in his house the whole time, and he wouldn't give her back to us. He wanted us to tell him that we will get rid of her. He practically wanted it in writing or else he wanted her put down for running after his chickens (the 2 dogs were in his yard for about 20 seconds because he was outside with the chickens). After about 30 minutes of back and forth with them, they finally relented to giving her back. She was so scared being locked in a strange house in a small crate.

For those of you that have met Panda, you know that she is not aggressive in any way. Chickens and dogs are another story. Panda did catch one of their chickens but didn't hurt it, and our neighbor apparently grabbed her and held her down to 'get her under control'. Our neighbor has been violent in the past and we have seen him throw things at our dogs and yell at them. I have no doubt that he scared her to death and she scratched him. Now he is worred about Panda attacking their 3 yr old neice. If you think that a husky is vicious, you don't know the breed. They are an amazing breed, great for families (minus the hair!), and very social dogs. Panda is just a puppy. My baby. I do not worry about her with people or children.

With all of this going on, we have made a really tough decision to find a guardian home from Mackenzie and possibly Lola. Sounds weird because it's not Panda! But after Jake and I have talked, and we just can't move this year, we think that it would be better to have one less doggy here. Our neighbor is constantly harassing us about our dogs. It is so hard to deal with him because he screams right in our face. Our dogs are not barking all of the time, or left outside in the rain, left outside when we aren't home etc...they are our pets. For the most part, if they are outside for a pee break, we are with them. Unless I have to do something quickly with the puppies, run in for water etc. I don't leave them outside for hours and say "keep yourselves occupied". We live in the city, and my dogs are HOUSE DOGS. They stay in our house with us, but of course they have to go outside at some point during the day! Our neighbor thinks that we have too many dogs (we are still following city rules here), and that we have a killer husky. It just makes me so mad that someone would keep one of my dogs locked in their house like that. Way to build neighbor relations!

Well, if you have gotten this far, here are some photos of Jersey's puppies!

Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to wish all of the dads out there a happy father's day!

Today we went to my mom's house for father's day dinner. It is a big ordeal to leave home and place all of the dogs so that they are ok for the few hours that we are gone. Because we have so many puppies and then Jersey who is visiting from her guardian home, we don't have enough crates! So Panda, Maggie and Mona got to come to mom's with us! They are so excited for any car ride! Unfortunately the others had to stay at home. We had a doggy babysitter coming over as well to let everyone out while we were gone. My best friend came over to play with the puppies and give everyone a pee break. She knows all of our dogs and just loves them to pieces.

So we set out to mom's house for dinner...

Panda trying to ride shot gun!

Finding her place on the floor.

Wow...Mona needs a hair trim...

Just look at those stunning eyes!

These are some photos of the puppies at my mom's house!

Hershey - one of Minne and Mickey's puppies (little sister to Mona). Hershey is just head over heels for my brother Gregory. She also needs a hair trim because she looks like one-eyed Jack in this photo!

Molly and Solo's puppies!

The Girls.

The Boys.

And of course I had to take pictures of Ginger and Tink's babies!!

This is Milly...she will be going home at the end of June.

This girl doesn't have a name yet...

Ginger's apricot girl...

Ginger's big boy! I brought him home with me because he is getting neutered tomorrow.

And Tink's girl...also without a name! Hmmm...what goes with Ginger, Tink and JuJu?!?!

We had a great visit with everyone. My mom made a huge feast and it was delicious! Afterwards we played some cards (our family plays a lot of euchre!) and then Jake and I had to leave to get back to the doggies!

Mona was so happy to get back home and see 'her' puppies again. These are Jersey's babies but Mona loves being a mother and literally wants to take everyone's puppies for her own.

Blaze's puppies are going in for their spay/neuter tomorrow. They got a bath tonight and now they are fast asleep in their crate.

puppy selections...

Well puppy matching is underway. Here are the picks so far...

Female 1 (left) - now called "George" will be joining Kelly K. and Family!

Female 2 - now called "Maggie" will be joining Jane, Sean and Oliver!

Female 3 - still unnamed! Will be joining Dare to Dream Labradoodles when she is older!

Female 4 - currently unnamed as well...will be joining Tuscan Ridge Labradoodles!

Male 3 - now called Major! He will also be joining Dare to Dream Labradoodles when he is older. Major is going to live with his guardian family next week!

Tomorrow afternoon we have people coming to see Jersey's puppies, and then another family coming to meet Blaze's boys. On wednesday all of Blaze's puppies went to the vet for their vaccinations and well puppy checks. Everyone was very healthy. Just before we were heading to the vets though, male #2 got his leg stuck coming out of the crate so he was limping. We did an xray at the vet just to make sure that it was nothing serious, and it is nothing to worry about. He will not be affected by it and should be perfectly fine in the next couple of days. For now, we are babying him right up and he is loving it!

Jersey's puppies have moved to an xpen where they have more space to hobble around and cause a ruckus! Molly's puppies are starting to move around a lot as well, and they have started to eat a bit of soften kibble. I will get to see them on sunday at my mom's house!
